 Cheeseburger Meatloaf

Prep: 20 minutes

Cook: 1 hour

Ready In: 1:20 hours

 

Ingredients

2 pounds ground beef

¾ cup fresh breadcrumbs

½ cup minced onion

2 eggs, beaten

1½ teaspoons salt

1½ teaspoons ground black pepper

3 cups shredded Cheddar cheese

Or you can substitute Montreal steak seasoning for the pepper and salt. Add to your taste.

 

Directions

 Preheat oven to 350oF.

In a large bowl, combine the beef, breadcrumbs, onion, eggs, salt, pepper (or steak seasoning), and grated cheese, and mix well. Save about 1/2 a cup of the cheese for the top.

Bake in the preheated oven for 30 minutes. Add the reserved cheese to the top and return to the oven and bake an additional 10 minutes. The internal temperature should be 160oF.

Remove from oven and let sit 10 - 15 minutes before slicing and serving. 

This is a very flexible recipe. You can cut up several slices of bacon, and mix it in with the meat, or you can lay slices of bacon across the top, for a "Bacon Cheeseburger Meatloaf."
